  • John Murthodi

    Cross-Cultural Specialist

What I enjoy the most is serving and sharing Christ with a diverse group of international students at UTD. God has helped me to witness lives being touched by Christ's love, and students walking out of our events with a new understanding of Christ.

There are two passages in the Bible that encourage me in my student ministry. One is the story of the Good Samaritan in which the Samaritan doesn't wait for the hurt person to find him, instead, he reaches him. This story helped me not to wait for the student to ask for any help (most of the South Asian students that come from shame and honor culture have difficulty asking for help), but to let the student know that I'm always available to serve them. Whether it's taking them to a grocery store, taking them for an interview, helping them with essential furniture (typical international students come with two suitcases), or spending time listening to them and sharing the Gospel through my testimony.

Another story is the Syrophoenician woman in Mark 7:26. Everyone is welcome to come to Jesus regardless of their religious background; all one needs is to trust him. This story is very powerful while sharing with International students because I noticed most of them think that they have to do something or have to be born as a Christian to come to Christ. This story helps the students to know that all are welcome to trust Christ who has done it all

  • Kaitlin Warrington

    Cross-Cultural Consultant

I work with international students at the University of Texas at Dallas. I absolutely love welcoming the nations that have come to Texas and letting them know that there are people who will love them, help them and connect them to the love of God! Here at UTD, there are 8,000 international students from more than 100 different countries. The world truly has come to this campus!

Through this work, I get to partner with my husband, who serves as the Baptist Student Ministry director at UT Dallas, and together we love to shepherd college students, whether they are from Texas or around the world. Our hope is that while they are on our college campus, we get to help lead students to discover more about how God has made them and the purpose He has for them. We desire to help these students grow into faithful disciples of Jesus who become disciple-makers wherever they go in life.

  • Alli Wortham

    Associate Director

Hi! My name is Alli Wortham and I am stepping on staff with the UTD BSM as an associate director! I currently live in Rowlett, TX, but I grew up in Houston, and moved to Waco to attend Baylor University! Once I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Religion, I moved to Rowlett to do the school of ministry through Lakepointe church! There, i worked in the Kid’s ministry and hung out with 1st-5th graders. The Lord radically changed my life through the Baylor BSM and though I loved my time in Kids Min, I always knew evangelism and discipleship to young adults/international students were passions the Lord wanted me to step into! I am PUMPED to be on this team and allow God to use me through an organization I already have so much love for!
